The Boxer Dog Knife continues the tradition of Iisakki Järvenpää's dog-themed knives, standing alongside the Hound Dog and Elkhound knives. Much like the Boxer breed itself, this knife is an excellent companion both for display and utility. Its impressive appearance makes it ideal for forest outings and training sessions.
The handle feels comfortable even in harsh weather, with the oiled birch bark offering a warm, slightly suede-like grip. To maintain its beauty and resilience, a light coat of linseed oil once a year is recommended. The handle features a bronze cast of a Boxer’s head at the top, while the handle itself is hand-assembled from approximately 60 pieces of birch bark.
Decorative brass spacers are placed between the bark layers, and a piece of reindeer antler about 1 cm thick is added to the bottom – because a Boxer needs a bone, after all! The reindeer antlers are sourced from the base of naturally shed antlers in Finnish Lapland, making each Boxer Dog Knife unique with its varying color tones. A brass bolster is fitted between the handle materials and the blade.
The blade is made of stainless steel, which is low-maintenance and easy to care for. The sheath is crafted from natural light vegetable-tanned leather, with a brass fitting at the top to complete the design.
