The Engraving Knife was originally a custom order suggested by a Finnish-American and has since become a permanent part of our collection. The name itself is a nod to its origins. This knife features a small, short, and narrow blade designed specifically for detailed carving work and other fine woodworking tasks, such as engraving.
The polished carbon steel blade of the Engraving Knife is straight with a curved upper edge, the opposite of a typical knife design. This shape makes it easier to press and guide the blade with the thumb from above, offering greater control during intricate work.
The oval-shaped handle, made from curly birch, is short and rounded for easy maneuverability in the hand. The handle is treated with linseed oil, providing a solid grip during use.
The sheath is made from light or dark vegetable-tanned bull leather and includes a sturdy belt loop. Paired with model number 922100, the Askares Knife, this set forms an excellent duo for any precise carving and woodworking tasks.
