This version of the Kontio Knife features a 15 cm stainless steel blade and handle made from lacquered heat-treated birch. The stainless steel makes it practically maintenance-free; the knife is also available with a carbon steel blade, which requires more maintenance but is exceptionally sharp.
The upper bolster is cast in bronze in the shape of a bear’s head. The sheath is made of dark brown leather with a brass clamp at the top. The blade of this knife is shaped similarly to the Leuku Knife, though slightly shorter. The heavy bronze bear's head helps balance the knife, placing the center of gravity near the middle.
When you pull out the Kontio Knife by the campfire, your hunting companions are sure to take the message without needing to say a word!
