The Iisakki Järvenpää Cigar Knife was originally designed and manufactured for the Strenberg Tobacco Factory in Pietarsaari. It was produced for decades, with the peak production in the 1960s and 70s, until its discontinuation at the end of the 1970s.
The Strenberg factory has since been sold and the smoke has cleared, but our knife factory's stock still contained these decades-old blades and birch handle blanks. Therefore, the Cigar Knife was reintroduced into our production. At the same time, a leather sheath was developed to protect it.
We do not in any way encourage smoking, and in any case, cut cigars are not a typical part of everyday life. More often, cigars are used to celebrate significant life events, such as the birth of a child, retirement, graduation, or other memorable occasions. As a lasting reminder of such events, the Cigar Knife is a perfect choice, and we can engrave important dates, names, etc., on the blade. The Cigar Knife also serves as a ruggedly stylish decor piece, and you won’t find an Iisakki Järvenpää Cigar Knife in just any living room!
The total length of the knife is 185 mm (7.3"), and the blade length is 75 mm (3"). The handle is varnished birch, and the blade is made of carbon steel.
