The Duck Knife shares its sleek, blackened 8 cm carbon steel blade with our Juhlavuolu, Aito Knife and Jänisjahti models. Its oiled curly birch handle features our traditional "Hookhead" design from 1921, a classic all-purpose model equipped with a finger guard. The knife’s only fitting is a nickel silver flat bolster, known as the "västi," placed between the blade and the handle. The sheath is made of either dark brown or light vegetable-tanned leather, embossed with a flying duck motif.
Despite its name, the Duck Knife isn’t specifically for handling poultry; it simply bears the name to distinguish it from other models. It is well-suited for woodworking, outdoor adventures, and hiking. Its sibling, the Jänisjahti, shares all the same features but without the finger guard. The sheath is crafted from domestic vegetable-tanned leather, available in either natural light or dark brown, with an image of a duck embossed on the upper section.
The carbon steel blade requires regular care – it should always be cleaned and dried after use, and applying a thin layer of oil to the blade helps protect it from corrosion.
