The Jätkänvuolu is a rugged, all-purpose knife designed for those who value excellent blade performance.
Originally introduced in 1956, it has become a trusted tool for carving tasks and camping, built for hard use. The oiled handle provides a secure grip, even when wet. This is achieved by treating the handle with flaxseed oil, which ensures it doesn’t become slippery even in challenging conditions.
The black carbon steel blade, left unfinished after heat treatment, speaks to its toughness. The blade runs through the entire handle and is securely riveted at the end, with the rivet concealed by a nickel silver pommel. The sheath, made from vegetable-tanned cowhide, features a decorative pattern inspired by Sámi culture. It is available in either traditional natural leather or dark brown.
The Jätkänvuolu Knife is exceptionally sharp and easy to maintain, but it requires care. After each use, the knife should be cleaned, dried, and oiled, and it should never be left in the sheath when wet.
For those seeking a lower-maintenance option, we also offer a version with a stainless steel blade, which is better suited for casual knife users.

This model is also available in a double knife set, where the Jätkänvuolu serves as the smaller knife in the Double Leuku set.
