It is striking in appearance, yet it can only be truly appreciated once you have held it in your hand.
It is not only shaped but also balanced for perfect comfort and functionality. Its distinctive feature is the slanted handle made from birch, complemented at both ends by individually cast bronze bolsters.
The unique bolster provides strong support and safety for the fingers while also shifting the knife's center of gravity to where it belongs. The black, polished carbon steel blade is 8 cm long and known as the Tyllerö.
Each of these knives is unique, as the patterns in the birch bark vary from one knife to another, and the cast bronze fittings also differ slightly in shape and characteristics. The birch handle is oiled.
This knife requires occasional maintenance: after use, a light coating of food-grade oil should be applied to the blade, and the handle should be oiled with cotton oil once or twice a year.
The sheath is very simple, made from dark brown cowhide, and requires no additional care beyond drying after use.
