The Baker Gift Set includes our serrated Bread Knife, a linen-cotton blend kitchen towel, and a basket made from willow and alder.
The kitchen towel features a traditional knife pattern with a Helavyö belt design, made by the Jokipiin Pellava weaving mill in Jalasjärvi. The basket adds a beautiful touch to table settings, perfect for serving baked goods, bread, and more. It is handcrafted by Bo-Åke Ljungars from Maalahti.
Iisakki Järvenpää Company has been producing various kitchen knives and even forks and knives for decades. All production of these items ceased by the late 1970s. There were around 20 different kitchen knife models in total, listed in old catalogs as Butcher's Knives, Cake Knives, Bread Knives, etc. These knives came with different handle designs, some with bolsters, some without, and there were variations in blade lengths as well.
We have reintroduced two of these knife models, one of which has been named the Bread Knife – although it was originally called the Pastry Knife. Nowadays, however, a bread knife seems more useful than a pastry knife.
The handle is made of mahogany, and the blanks for the handles and blades come from old stock from the 1970s. The blade's material was chosen according to the original design and is made of 1.5 mm stainless steel, with the handle lacquered just as it was before.
Due to the lacquered handle, the knife is not dishwasher safe!
The blade has been serrated with a sharpening stone according to the original model.
The blade length is 17 cm, and the total length of the knife is 28 cm.
The kitchen towel measures 45 x 55 cm.
The basket measures 27 x 18 x 6 cm.
